Family Supports for
Children with Disabilities

What is it?
FSCD is a Government of Alberta program that provides funding for families to access support and services for children with disabilities.
FSCD will:
Help parents pay for therapies and other services to support their child’s healthy development.
Work alongside families to encourage home and community involvement.
We can support your child to develop, learn, and be included in activities at home and in the community by supporting:
speech
spoken language
written language
pragmatic (social) language
Augmentative & Alternative Communication
Who is eligible?
A child must:
be under the age of 18.
must be a permanent resident or Canadian citizen.
the child must reside in Alberta.
the person applying must be the child’s legal guardian.
In order to apply, a child must have (or be waiting for) a chronic diagnosis of a developmental, sensory, physical, neurological or mental disorder or impairment.

developing family support systems
