Children with Disabilities

(FSCD)

“It seems the songs of our children may be in keys we’ve never tried.”

— Fred Rogers

What is it?

FSCD is a Government of Alberta program that provides funding for families to access support and services for children with disabilities.

FSCD will:

  • Help parents pay for therapies and other services to support their child’s healthy development.

  • Work alongside families to encourage home and community involvement.

We can support your child to develop, learn, and be included in activities at home and in the community by supporting:

  • speech

  • spoken language

  • written language

  • pragmatic (social) language

  • Augmentative & Alternative Communication

Who is eligible?

A child must:

  • be under the age of 18.

  • must be a permanent resident or Canadian citizen.

  • the child must reside in Alberta.

  • the person applying must be the child’s legal guardian.

In order to apply, a child must have (or be waiting for) a chronic diagnosis of a developmental, sensory, physical, neurological or mental disorder or impairment.
